A Coyote is attracted to feed on a fish kill on the lower Sturgeon River that was caused by low oxygen levels in the shallow waters of Big Lake and the Sturgeon River over the winter.
A Bald Eagle launches from its perch on the bluffs overlooking the narrows of Big Lake
A chilly morning in early November, Big Lake has frozen over and I am able to walk on the edge of the lake to the bluffs overlooking the narrows where I found a pair of Bald Eagles "hanging out". I was too exposed to approach them but was able to get some long range shots with the trees providing an interesting background as they flew off.
