Harvest of the barely field behind our home was expected to draw raptors hunting rodents disturbed as the combined harvesters move through. This time the Swainson's Hawk was unsuccessful but it came back to the same spot and did find a vole.
This Barred Owl was very tolerant of my approach even as it searched for something else to eat.
