With seven photographers in the zodiac it was inevitable that we were getting the same sort of shots with the main difference being the focal length used, I believe most were using their 70-200 zooms on either a full frame or crop sensor camera, we me using the fixed 300 mm on a crop camera, equivalent to 450 mm field of view on a full frame camera, I think I was the only one to get this tight onto the bear for this shot. Though I guess the other folks could crop into their own compositions if they wish. There endeth the selection of shots from the "Long March" I hope he found what he was looking for, even if it was only peace and quiet.
We were back with Beau and I cast around looking for other types of shots and thought this was a great view up towards the estuary and the mountains beyond. Just noticed the branches coming in from the right darn in. Photoshop!!!!!
A very late evening shot of a young grizzly bear, he was quite skittish and didn't hang about very long. Because of my remorse at using my fixed telephoto on the long march I reverted to using my slow zoom, this was about the only sharp shot I got of him at ridiculously high ISO, so no more remorse.
