Water is thrown from SB's impressive claw during his long march down the Khutzeymateen inlet, another tight shot with my fixed telephoto.
With seven photographers in the zodiac it was inevitable that we were getting the same sort of shots with the main difference being the focal length used, I believe most were using their 70-200 zooms on either a full frame or crop sensor camera, we me using the fixed 300 mm on a crop camera, equivalent to 450 mm field of view on a full frame camera, I think I was the only one to get this tight onto the bear for this shot. Though I guess the other folks could crop into their own compositions if they wish. Why did you do that you ask? Well my zoom lens is a little "slow" for shooting in the evening light so I decided to go with my "fastest" (largest aperture) lens, a decision I had mixed feeling about at the time but upon reflection I am glad I did that. There endeth the selection of shots from the "Long March" I hope he found what he was looking for, even if it was only peace and quiet.
We were back with Beau and I cast around looking for other types of shots and thought this was a great view up towards the estuary and the mountains beyond. Just noticed the branches coming in from the right darn in. Photoshop!!!!!
