I spent an hour walking the boardwalk loop, looking for compositions with my wide angle lens and working with my camera on a tripod, it was misty and snowy and magical - I had the place to myself, I never did see the occupants of the other car, nor did I run into any bears. For more of this place please go to the "Ancient Forest" gallery.
After my short stop at the Ancient Forest I headed for home, reaching the intersection of 16 and 5 South I was flagged down and advised of a rock slide blocking the highway - I could drive on and join the traffic queue for a four hour wait or do something else like go to Valemount for lunch. So I ended up in Valemount for four hours where I took in the visitor centre, had lunch, and hiked in the rain around a 6 km trail at a wetland nature centre.
Just completed in May of this year, BC seems to have a thing going with boardwalks.
