A pair of moose ( a mom and older calf) on the tree line of Big Lake.

An adult and younger moose browse the tree line at Big Lake just after the winter solstice sunrise.

Crossing the Sturgeon

A moose decides to cross to my side of the now completely frozen and snow covered Sturgeon River while I was photographing it (the moose) at dusk.

A pair of White-tailed Deer (yes there are two) move up a the snowy bank of a dried up Oxbo lake of the Sturgeon River.

Bedded Down

This cow and calf have chosen this spot to bed down for the last several days, gradually they are more relaxed as we pass by (me and the dog) and take a few photos of them. This was taken amidst a freezing rain storm, hence the "wet and spiky" look. Sturgeon County.

Stare down

I tried to get ahead of this white tailed buck as he ran towards Carrot Creek at Meadowview Drive. He won the race so I stopped to get a shot of him. He then obliged me by posing in the middle of the road for a few seconds before leaping into the bush.

Pretty Girl

A female moose calf while grazing in the woods of Lois Hole Park with her sibling brother and mom (out of shot). Soon to be stirred up by an off leash dog and an owner that thought he should call his hunting buddies.

Tasty

This cow moose was happily munching on the Dogwood bush twigs as I walked by on the trail in Lois Hole Park.

Reunited

After getting separated a young female and a young bull reunite in the now frozen up J Poole Wetland.

Tracking

This buck was tracking a doe in the bush on the north bank of the Sturgeon River near Big Lake. St Albert.

Escape Route

I first saw this moose making several attempts to cross Ray Gibbon Drive in rush hour traffic, I was relieved to see she was finally successful and unscathed. St Albert.
