Ducks take flight as a Bald Eagle swoops out of the sky. Big Lake.
I just managed to squeeze this Bald Eagle in the frame as it flew by the viewing platform at Big Lake. St Albert. The light was very poor for high shutter speed photography so not the best quality shot.
When nature's fastest flying bird goes shooting overhead in poor light the challenges are first to get it into the frame and the camera focused, then to use a fast enough shutter speed to freeze the action, and then finally dialing in enough exposure compensation to keep the shadow details. All to be done while keeping digital noise levels under control. This was my best effort after quite some time spent in post processing. Big Lake, St Albert. (crop)
