Clearing the Cache
As I watched with the dog this squirrel dug out it's cache of pine cones from beneath a small stump then jumped onto the top of the stump to eat its meal.

It is slim pickings for wildlife on the forest floor during deep winter, this snowshoe hare spent some time with some windfall from a pine tree while me and the dog quietly watched.
