Dusk over the Sturgeon

Thirst
Well after sunset this cow moose limped out of the woods and down to the lake for a drink. ( I observed her crossing the Sturgeon River the previous evening see here https://www.wildstalbert.com/A-year-in-the-wild/Latest-St-Albert-and-area/i-43bs3tM/A). St Albert.
Sublime afterglow

Escape
Late evening, well after sunset during the blue hour, a struggling (with a severe limp) cow moose makes her way across the Sturgeon River, eventually deciding to cross below my position and escape into the bush. St Albert.
Indecision
As dusk turned to night this cow moose tried to find the best way to cross over the mouth of the Sturgeon River at Big Lake. She was limping quite badly as though she got hit by a vehicle maybe. She struggled to the left then to the right and eventually crossed over and passed below my position and then disappeared into the bush. I hope she recovers. St Albert.
Bright Light
A patch of bright light shines onto Big Lake at sunset, the wide tonal range making this perfect for a black and white conversion. St Albert.
Dark sunset
I went to this position hoping for a spectacular display of reflected light on the clouds and lake after the sun dropped below the horizon, got this instead. Big Lake, St Albert.
Wild Sky

Summer
Well it's July on the prairies and the annual tradition of photographing thunderstorms over the blooming canola fields begins, I got wet just after his was taken! Sturgeon County.
