A male Goldeneye "covering" a female in the J Poole Wetland. During the process he grabs the feathers on top of her head; so she can breathe? for better purchase? or to prevent an escape?
It's still August but the signs of fall are starting to appear, like the gathering of these American Coots on the Sturgeon River in St Albert
